Premarital Counseling
At Onechurch, we believe preparing for marriage is more important than planning a wedding. Our goal is to help you build a strong, Christ-centered marriage that lasts a lifetime.
All couples being married by a Onechurch pastor or hosting their wedding at Onechurch are required to complete premarital counseling through SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts). This process includes completing an assessment, reviewing a personalized report, and meeting with a trained facilitator couple for up to six sessions covering topics such as communication, conflict resolution, finances, intimacy, expectations, and family background.
Because counseling is scheduled based on facilitator availability, couples are encouraged to begin the process at least six months before their wedding date. Additional meetings with the officiating pastor may be required. Onechurch pastors reserve the right to postpone or decline officiating a wedding if significant concerns arise during the counseling process.
